Arthur is finally noticed, and the way that he lights up with happiness is something you will rarely see in the movie, a genuine feeling or sense of joy. He says, For my whole life I didn't know if I even existed, but I do know. Arthur is similar to Jack and Heath's take on the Joker. From Jack's humor to Heath's clumsiness. Like when he runs right into the Exit Only door in front of the hospital, he runs into it with full force, and acts like nothing happened, still trying to get in. The scenes where he dances, like in the bathroom scene he looks free, he looks happy, it's scary sometimes. Arthur just wants to make people laugh, like when he says My life isn't a tragedy, it's a comedy. His laugh is terrifying, how he can burst into laughter at any time. Phoenix played the Joker in a way we have never seen before. He made one of the best performances of the Joker ever.
